What a Laugh!
“What a Laugh!” is a free event organised by the Instituto Cervantes in Manchester, the Alliance Française de Manchester, and the Societa’ Dante Alighieri in Manchester, in partnership with the world television channel Eurochannel. All these organisations have joined forces with a common goal: to present a collage of short films comedy from all over Europe.
Following last year’s success, our cultural centres in Manchester have come together to bring another great festival of European short films to the Mancunian public in September.
“What a Laugh” is a very interesting overview of the different ways in which irony and comedy are embedded in stories generated by the sensibility of European countries as diverse as Italy and Norway. The programme includes the screening of 14 short films.
All the short films will be shown in their original version with English subtitles.
The festival will take place at the Instituto Cervantes in Manchester on 19 September and at the Alliance Française de Manchester on 20 September from 6.30 pm. The programme will be different on each night.
