During WWII, to spice up life in a castle situated by th D-Day beaches you need no less than a German captain deeply in love with castle-owner Catherine Deneuve and an American soldier, part of the Liberation forces. This is Jean-Paul Rappeneau’s first film and he is the first director to mention the war with a light-hearted tone.
