Following the disappearance of Stephane Hessel, one of the most committed French intellectuals, we have chosen a new programme dedicated to commitment. From comedy, romance, documentary to history, commitment is like a chameleon and you will not be disappointed!

£2 (members) / £3truffautJules et Jim, by François Truffaut, deals with a love triangle before and during the First World War. Two friends, one Austrian, Jules, and the other one French, Jim, fall in love with the same woman Catherine. The film recalls this story of love and friendship throughout the years. Directly inspired by semi-autobiographical novel by Henri-Pierre Roché, Catherine in real life was Helen Hessel, Stéphane Hessel’s mother.
