Two friends, one Austrian, Jules, and the other one French, Jim, fall in love with the same woman Catherine. The film recalls this story of love and friendship throughout the years. Directly inspired by semi-autobiographical novel by Henri-Pierre Roché, Catherine in real life was Helen Hessel, Stéphane Hessel’s mother.
