Wed 17 April 2013, 6.15pm (6.30pm start), @ Instituto Cervantes, 360 Deansgate, M3 4FN £10 / £8 for members, concessions and early bookings (before 27 March)
Società Dante Alighieri, Instituto Cervantes and AF Manchester have the pleasure to collaborate to invite you to ‘Scent of Wine’, an evening to explore the sensory experience of wine tasting!
First, Prof. Krishna Persaud from the School of Chemical Engineering and Analytical Science (University of Manchester) will help you to understand how to be able to appreciate different tastes and assess the wine’s richness and complexity. In his presentation, he will explore the odours and aromas that are found in wines and some of the reasons why we like or dislike a particular wine. Smell the aromas, try to identity them and let yourself be drawn into the pleasure of the game.
Secondly, with the help of Juliusz Lisowski from Bianca Trading you will soon become proficient at recognising the different aromas and find that you are enjoying wine more and more. Under his guidance you will have the opportunity of enjoying 6 different wines from these 3 Mediterranean countries:
– Italy: Grifalco Aglianico del Vulture DOC 2005 & Custodi-Belloro Orvieto DOC Classico Secco 2009
– Spain: Mi Villa Rioja Tinto 2011 & Mi Villa Rioja Blanco 2011
– France: Château Peyrat 2009 & Sauvignon de Touraine – Domaine Beauséjour 2011
Biance Trading is an established family business importing exclusive Italian, Spanish and French wines of superior quality.
After the tasting, you will be able to enjoy a glass of your favourite wine accompanied by a selection of delightful nibbles kindly offered by Lola España, Epicerie Ludo and Amato Products.
