Feature: Singing in French

Singing has huge benefits for language learning – it helps with nerves, is great for pronunciation and intonation, helps with vocab and is a wonderful insight into French culture and society.

In our singing group we will be trying everything from traditional music, to pop and soul – maybe you could suggest your favourite tunes for us to have a go at?

So why not give it a try?  Once again, you do not need to be able to sing, just want to have fun and use your French.

Our meetings this semester will take place on:

  • Tuesdays (weeks 3, 5, 7) from 1-2 in Samuel Alexander 3.1
  • Wednesdays (weeks 2, 4, 6, 8) from 3-4 in Simon 4.50

Next week (Wednesday 6th February) we will sing Georges Brassens “Les copains d’abord!”

Just come along or email Catherine Franc for more details (c.franc@manchester.ac.uk).
