The new French Reading Group has now met three times to discuss ‘Le Second Souffle’ by Philippe Pozzo di Borgo, the true story that inspired the film, ‘Intouchables’. While the jury’s still out on whether we like this book (review to come!), we’ve had a great time discussing it and the film, in both English and French
We’ve also all found that this book has challenged our French differently from what we do in classes.
Each meeting has also included some edible goodies provided by the French department.
The Group will next meet in the New Year to continue/ finish looking at this book.
Upcoming reading groups will include discussion led by Myassa from the AF, more French films based on books and looking at translations of popular English books into French (Harry Potter et le Prisonnier d’Azkban anyone?).
New members from any year would be welcome at any point, reading in French is an excellent way to expand your vocabularly and understanding of grammar. Just send me an email to find out more!
